We are actively looking to hire a Solution Specialist (Oracle Financials) to join our clients Asia Pacific office based in Sydney.
 
As the Solution Specialist you will be joining the Training and Support team and report primarily into the Global Head of Support Services with secondary responsibility to Regional Management.
 
Your primary responsibilities will include: training, product and presales support activities. The ability to manage time and work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess great organisational skills and have good written and communication abilities. You will also have a solid understanding from a functional perspective of multiple Oracle e-Business Suite modules including GL, AP and AR, and be able to discuss and understand the month end challenges encountered by accounting and finance departments.  
 
Responsibilities:
 
Product / Solution Training:
  • Train end users on reporting solutions. This involves presenting online using web based technology and occasionally on-site training courses
  • Assist clients/prospects in building proof of concept reports
  • Present / demo solutions at tradeshows / webinars
Support Functions:
  • Receiving notification of a new issue logged by a customer
  • Using the company knowledge base and personal experience gained to find a solution
  • Updating the case logging system with comprehensive detail regarding case status
  • Hosting online meetings with the customer to troubleshoot the problem
  • Keeping the customer regularly informed regarding progress and resolution
  • Seeking solutions from expert internal resources for unresolved issues.  Follow-up until resolved
Sales Support / Solution Development:
  • Develop proof of concept reports for prospective customers during the sales cycle
  • Assisting the local sales team with any issues of a technical nature and providing technical support in the sales process where needed
Product Testing: 
  • New releases / new functionality assist during the testing cycles
 
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3+ years Financial accounting experience 
  • Understand finance reporting and month end processing requirements. 
  • Understanding of Oracle e-Business Suite and specifically the General Ledger and Financial modules from a functional perspective 
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL a plus
  • Be comfortable working with new technology and software
  • Be extremely familiar with Microsoft Excel functionality
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and methods of installing and configuring related products
  • Must have an affinity for problem solving, strong analytical and organisational skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers who have varying levels of functional and technical expertise
  • Display energy, enthusiasm and ambition in your work
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills
Desirable Skills:
 
· Business Analyst capabilities including ability to build financial reports using Excel
· Salesforce.com experience
· GL Wand Experience
· Experience with SAP financial modules a plus
· Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese
